213a HEALTH INSURANCE STUDY COMMITTEE
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to provide for the
structure and the operation of health insurance study committee as required by
the teacher master contract.
II. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
The teacher
master agreement states the following: ‘ The selection
of the insurance carrier and policy shall be made by the

APPOINTMENT OF THE HEALTH INSURANCE STUDY COMMITTEE
A. The school board hereby
appoints the following committee members:
B. All committee members with
the exception of the School Board Chairperson or their designee and the
superintendent shall be group health insurance pool members.
IV. PROCEDURES FOR THE HEALTH INSUANCE STUDY COMMITTEE
A. All meetings of the
committee shall be open to the public in compliance with the Open Meeting Law,
and notice shall be given as prescribed by law.
B. Actions of a committee or
subcommittee shall be by majority vote.
C. A secretary who will record
the minutes of actions of the health insurance study committee shall be
designated.
D. The committee shall make
recommendations to the school district as to the selection of the insurance
carrier
E. The committee shall make
recommendations to the school district as to the types of policies including,
but not limited to deductibles, copay levels and
maximum out of pocket levels.
